Stephanie Volmer

Position: School Superintendent’s Representative

Term Ends: N/A

Stephanie’s first library love was the Margaret Clapp Library at Wellesley College. There—whether working in the computer lab late at night, filling out index cards at her cubicle, or reading a periodical in an over-stuffed purple chair–she learned that libraries can set you on your path and shape your future. When she and her then-four-year-old daughter moved to Lambertville in 2017, the first place they visited was the library, where Stephanie got her library card and her daughter signed up for the Summer Reading Program. Stephanie served on the PTA board of the Lambertville Public School for five years and remains committed to nurturing strong ties between Lambertville and the South Hunterdon Regional School District. She earned a PhD in English from Rutgers University and works as the Managing Editor at Raritan Quarterly, a journal of literary and cultural criticism.

There are some books I reread every few years, including An Old-Fashioned Girl by Louisa May Alcott, Middlemarch by George Eliot, and Beloved by Toni Morrison.
