We have an excellent City Hall. When they knew we were looking for a place to have a pop-up library, they jumped right in and offered two spaces. One is downtown at the Justice Center for kid programs and other activities. I heard that the Mah Jong group is going strong, but I have yet to stop by. But the other space is right here at City Hall. It’s a lovely, open space, which we promptly filled. See you in the stacks! /Annie

Would you just look at this! It’s happening! It has begun! This is really exciting news for not only the library, but for the whole community. This grand old building has withstood a lot of wear and tear over the decades, and now the time has come for some much-needed repairs. Brick pointing, roof leaks, and other external repairs are all being taken care of. It’s exciting! See you in the stacks! /Annie

With so much thanks to an army of volunteers, staff, and board members, the library was packed up and ready for renovations in an amazingly short time. With breathtaking speed, volunteers came in and packed up the books according to a system that will let us locate any book and the shelf where it belongs after we come back. Honestly, I am so impressed with it all. We are truly blessed to have so many amazing and capable and generous friends here. See you in the stacks! /Annie

It’s no secret that I love cookbooks. I probably love them more than I love cooking, but cooking is a close second. Here at the library, we try to provide a broad base of cookbooks, from classics, to regional, and sometimes the downright unusual. But sometimes a cookbook comes along that is a real standout. And we have a new one, just in. Christopher Kimball’s “Cook What you Have.” See you in the stacks /Annie

The Lambertville library has a lot of treasures. A lot of them. Rare books, the art book collection, the gallery space upstairs…so many, too many for just one blog post. When I was little, I loved story time, and it didn’t matter whether it was at our library, or at school, or at a special event, or even just at home, a home-grown story hour, if you will. The child in me was absolutely blown away when I saw my first Drag Queen Story Hour.

Oaxaca Day is coming!!! I always get so excited about it. There is so much camaraderie, and everyone is a friend. The whole community comes out and celebrated together.

This looks like a door, doesn’t it? A door in progress. And that is exactly what it is. This door has not always been there. This door has a story.

The Oaxaca Festival Is Back! We are excited to announce that the Lambertville Library will host the third annual Oaxaca Festival on Sunday, August 25th, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm.

What an amazing time I had on Saturday! It was my first time marching in the Pride Parade, and I was there with the library. It was good to see

This is where the paperbacks were until recently. Before that, audiobooks lived there. Before that I don’t know, but maybe it was DVDs. Things change in the library, lately at a more rapid pace. Some of the changes are subtle, and someone has to point them out to me. Some I know about in advance, but some are surprises, which always adds more fun to a day. This used to be a big, white bookshelf, and it still is, underneath it’s fancy new display. Someone worked magic on it, and we now have a place for you to share your experiences and stories about your time in the library!

The Lambertville Free Public Library is thrilled to announce that we are among the 15 libraries honored as finalists for the 2024 National Medal for Museum and Library Service – and we couldn’t have done it without you, Lambertville!

It’s not April yet, but it’s close. I was crossing over the free bridge to Pennsylvania the other day, and traffic was slow enough that I could look out at the scenery, and I was happy to see yet another harbinger of spring–a small boat, anchored near the bridge, line fishing. They were fishing for shad!

It’s the beginning of spring! On this second day of the season, it seems more like a winter day. The wind is blowing, the trees are swaying, and there is more than just a small chill in the air.
