Welcome to Kid's Summer Reading 2025: Color our World!

Bienvenidos a la Lectura de Verano para Niños 2025: ¡Colorea nuestro mundo!

The Library Summer Reading program runs from June 18 to August 20!

Keep an eye on the newsletter and online events calendar for fun Summer Reading events to come.

For any questions about ages 4-11 Summer Reading, you can reach out to the children’s librarian Ms. Danielle at youthservices@lambertvillelibrary.org!

Who can participate?

  • For Kids’ Summer Reading at LFPL, kids ages 4 to 11 can participate.
    • 4 year olds have the option to participate in either kid’s or Early Literacy summer reading, but not both.
    • 11 year olds have the option to participate in either kid’s or teen summer reading, but not both.
    • Some exceptions may be made for kids over 11.

How does it work?

  • Grab a Kids’ Summer Reading Tracker from the front desk at the library! Here’s how the prizes for color-coded tracker system works:
    • First Tracker (Green):

      • A Prize Book

      • A choice between the Monthly Raffle or something from the Prize Chest

      • Your name goes on our Summer Reading Name Wall.

    • Second Tracker (Pink):

      • A Prize Book

      • A choice between the Monthly Raffle or something from the Prize Chest

      • An invitation to the Reader’s Breakfast in the beginning of the school year (only for rising Kingergarten-4th graders)

    • Third Tracker (Yellow):

      • A Prize Book

      • A choice between the Monthly Raffle or something from the Prize Chest

      • A Summer Reading: Color Our World T-shirt

    • Keep Reading Trackers (White):

      • One Prize Book per tracker

      • A choice between the Monthly Raffle or something from the Prize Chest per tracker

      • Keep turning these trackers in until the end of Summer Reading!

  • Use the tracker or go on Beanstack to record your reading every day.
    • Each tracker is worth:
      • 10 books
      • Or 5 hours
      • Or 250 pages
      • Or 5 days

  • Make sure to mark your selection on the back of your Kids’ Summer Reading Tracker. You can choose:
    • Monthly Prize Raffle
    • OR a prize from the Treasure Chest.

  • At the library, give your Kids’ Summer Reading Tracker to the librarian at the front desk or show them your hours completed on the Beanstack App.
    • Remember, you can choose either to take a chance on winning the Monthly Raffle or pick something from the Prize Chest.
    • Be sure to grab a free book from the  prize book cart!

  • Keep Reading all Summer!
    • Once you’ve completed the first three trackers, you can fill out the Keep Reading Trackers. You can fill out as many of these as you want until August 20.
    • Remember, the more trackers you complete, the better chance you have of winning the Monthly Raffle if you choose that option!

What counts as reading?

  • Summer Reading is supposed to be fun! Read what interests you.
    • Graphic novels, manga, eBooks, audiobooks, and re-read books all count!
    • Reading together (with an adult, with a friend, to a younger sibling, and more) also counts!

When does it happen?

Kids’ Summer Reading 2025 runs from June 18, two days after the Last Day of School, until August 20.

How do I start?

  • Starting on June 18, you can come to the library to pick up a Kids’ Summer Reading Tracker or you can register and keep track of your hours on Beanstack.

    • Beanstack is available to download on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
